The Japan program is open to British Columbia families only. The Japan program is offered in partnership with our facilitator, Faith International.
Requirements
Couples who have been married for a minimum of three years are eligible to adopt from Japan.
The Children
The children available in Japan are infants. Adoptive families are not able to request the gender of the child they would like to adopt and children are usually newborns at the time of referral. Children are generally healthy and placed for adoption for social, economic or cultural reasons.
Time Frame
It is difficult to provide a specific time frame for the adoption process as the political situation and legislation of any country is subject to change.
Process
Once an application is received and the home study is approved, CHOICES will assist in completing your paperwork and preparing the dossier for Japan. In collaboration with our facilitator, we will guide and assist you through all phases of the adoption process while ensuring all requirements met both in Canada and in Japan.
