Morocco local time:

Currently on Hold

The Morocco program is open to British Columbia families only. The Morocco program is offered in partnership with our facilitator, Children’s House International.

Requirements

Both married couples and single women can adopt from Morocco. Single women must be over 25 years of age. Married couples must be at least 21 years of age and under 55, though older applicants will be approved on a case-by-case basis. Adoptive Parents must either be Muslim or be willing to convert to Islam.

The Children

Most children available for adoption in Morocco are between the ages of infants and 12 years of age. Siblings are also available. There are far more boys available for adoption, generally because the girls are adopted by Moroccan families. For this reason, our facilitator, Children’s House International (CHI), is only accepting families open to referral of a boy. Children with special needs which range from minor to more significant are also available.

Time Frame

It is difficult to provide a specific time frame for the adoption process as the political situation and legislation of any country is subject to change.

Process

Once an application is received and the home study is approved, CHOICES will assist in completing your paperwork and preparing the dossier for Morocco. In collaboration with our facilitator, we will guide and assist you through all phases of the adoption process while ensuring all requirements met both in Canada and in Morocco. More information on the adoption process can be found here.
